"Heat it up: How destroying solar cells helps science "
The energy demand is ever-increasing. To sustainably meet our needs in the future, new energy solutions are needed. Lead halide perovskites are a new material used in solar cells with great efficiency and easy production. However, exposure to, e.g., heat or moisture easily damages the material, preventing its large-scale commercialization. Join my talk if you want to find out how we used particle accelerators to study its behavior under heat exposure.

I am a PhD student at KTH and I am studying surfaces and interfaces of perovskite solar cell materials using synchrotron-generated X-rays. For some experiments we also expose materials to light, laser or heat to study their behavior. Next to science, I love spending time hiking and climbing.
