Microbiota and ALS

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a relatively rare but devastating disease. Today, we still know rather little about the causes of ALS, and there is currently no cure for it. The potential contribution of gut microbiome in the development of ALS , as in other neurological diseases, has started to be studied and recognized. Fang Fang will introduce some of the recent research findings in the field.

Folk the Algorithms

We’ve been applying artificial intelligence to modeling traditional dance music of Ireland and Scandinavia. Naturally, this raises many concerns, not the least of which can be summarized by statements like, “Isn’t music robotic enough these days?” and “Is nothing sacred anymore?” I will discuss my research and its motivations, and what the future of AI and music may hold.
